POSITION: Assistant or Associate Professor of Teaching in the Early Grades

The Faculty of the UP Diliman College of Education seeks one full time assistant/associate professor of Teaching in the Early Grades. Applicants should complement and extend the existing strengths in various areas of the current faculty in Teaching in the Early Grades.

 

Qualifications:

  • With an undergraduate degree and MA in Education in Early Childhood Education, Teaching in the Early Grades, Reading Education, Child Development (or other closely related fields) from a reputable university
  • Extensive experience in teaching the basic subject areas in kindergarten and early grades (preferably more than five years)
  • Broad experience in curriculum development and assessment of K to 3 students
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the application of developmentally appropriate instruction in beginning reading, early numeracy, science, creative arts, and social studies

Review of applications will begin immediately. The selected applicants are expected to perform the following duties: (1) teach Teaching in the Early Grades and other related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; (2) mentor students in practice teaching and research; (3) serve in division and college committees; (4) attend faculty meetings regularly; (5) take part in nurturing the culture of research in the College through publications and presentations in conferences; (6) render extension (community) service; and (7) develop and update syllabi for courses to be taught.
