Dear Friends,

The COVID-19 pandemic is a major stressor that disrupted our way of life and challenged us to adapt to a new normal. In response, some people may resort to unhealthful ways of coping such as smoking, drinking alcohol, or worse, using illicit substances. This practice can put people more at risk. Thus, abstaining from substance use becomes more important than ever.

In this regard, the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education (ATCPDE) based in the University of the Philippines College of Education developed an infographic to encourage people to choose a healthy lifestyle amid COVID-19, a major stressor for many people across the globe. It aims to present healthful alternatives to smoking, drinking, alcohol, or using other dangerous substances.

Recognizing that COVID-19 is particularly challenging for those who are recovering from substance use disorder, the Center has also developed an infographic to support relapse prevention. Please feel free to share these advocacy materials in both their English and Filipino versions.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to safeguard the well-being of our fellow Filipinos.

Faithfully yours,
