Evaluation of Records of Graduating Students

Pursuant to Memo No. MRC 15-15 {Evaluation ofRecords of Graduating Students During the Penultimate Semester), please be reminded to consult your program adviser and have your curriculum checklist / program of study (POS) evaluated at the Office of the College Secretary by respective student records evaluators (SRE). This is to give the SREs ample time to address your deficiencies, should there be any.

ASEAN Conference on Global Prevention Practices and Interventions

In commemoration of its 40th year, the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education (ATCPDE) based in the University of the Philippines College of Education is organizing an ASEAN Conference on Global Prevention Practices and Interventions on November 27-29, 2019, SEAMEO Innotech. With 12 foreign resource persons (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan), the Conference aims to provide a platform for sharing best prevention practices across countries and disseminate the crucial themes of the international drug use prevention standards.

To register, kindly visit atcpde.pia.gov.ph and click news to find the conference article. The registration fee is Php3,000 and a special rate of Php2,500 will be given to students, senior citizens, DepEd and CHED participants. The deadline for registration has been extended until November 15, 2019.

PANDAYAN: Pagsasaling Teknikal

Malugod po kayong inaanyayahan ng Komite sa Wika na dumalo sa isang palihan (workshop)  sa “Pagsasaling Teknikal” sa Nobyembre 18, Lunes, 7:30am-12nn. Ito po ay bahagi ng mga serye ng palihan na may layuning patalakasin ang kakayahan ng mga guro at mag-aaral sa pananaliksik at publikasyon sa Filipino. Sa unang workshop na ito sa pagsasalin, inaasahang matulungan ang mga interesadong guro at mag-aaral na maisalin ang mga pananaliksik sa iba’t ibang larangan ng edukasyon, mula Ingles tungong Filipino. 
Ang gawain pong ito ay sa pakikipagtulungan ng Sentro ng Wikang Filipino- UP Diliman. Pangungunahan ito nina Dr. Wennielyn Fajilan ng Sentro ng Salin-UST/KWF at Prop. Jayson Petras ng Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan ng Pilipinas. Bagama’t bukas sa iba pang mga interesadong kalahok, prayoridad po sa pagpapatala ang mga guro at mag-aaral ng Kolehiyo ng Edukasyon. Kalakip po ang pabatid para sa palihan.

Student Teaching Application for the Second Semester Academic Year 2019 to 2020

To all undergraduate students who will be having their student teaching next semester, please read the qualifications and requirements for the application process.

Kindly consult with your program area adviser. Request for an assessment of your current academic status:

1) Must have completed all academic requirements
2) Accomplished 6 units of Philippine Studies Requirement (GE)
3) Must be in good standing (no grade of: INC, DROP, 4 or 5 in all required courses)
4) Must not be on MRR status
5) Students on MRR status must have an approved extension
6) Must have accomplished necessary substitution forms

Attach the following documents:

1) Course Checklist (as assessed by College’s Student Records evaluator and Program Adviser)
2) Official True Copy of Grades
3) Medical Certificate
4) Other Pertinent requirements regarding student teaching (if any: MRR Approval, certificate of completion for INC, letter of appeal)

Submit 2 copies of application form and the above-mentioned documents to Sir Abs Room 200 on or before November 15, 2019.

Announcement of the approval of application will be posted immediately after the meeting of the Student Teaching Committee.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO APPLY FOR STUDENT TEACHING?

Under EDUC’S policy, only those whose remaining academic load/courses are:

EDUC 180 STUDENT TEACHING (8 units)
EDUC 181 SENIOR SEMINAR (2 units)

Those with removable 4’s and/or incomplete must remove such deficiencies before applying.

The deadline of application is on November 15, 2019.

The Faculty of the UP Diliman College of Education seeks an assistant/associate professor of Science Education. The applicant should complement and extend our existing strengths in various areas of Science Education. He/She should maintain active research programs and encourage critical/conceptual, historical, qualitative, and quantitative research. Candidates must have earned a master’s or doctoral degree or its equivalent in Biology Education or closely related field. Applicant must submit the following:

Review of applications will be from October 28 to November 8, 2019 and appointment of selected applicant will begin in 2nd Semester, Academic Year 2019-2020. The selected applicant is expected to do the following: (1) teach Science Education courses and other related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; (2) advise graduate students who are writing their thesis or dissertation; (3) serve as thesis/dissertation critic or panel member; (4) serve on departmental, college, and university committees; (5) attend faculty meetings regularly; (6) maintain active research agenda as documented through publications and presentations; (7) render extension (community) service; and (8) review and update syllabi for courses to be taught; and (9) other duties and responsibilities related to the position.
