Advisory from the Office of the College Secretary (OSec) | February 2, 2021

  1. Please be informed that registration-related requests (i.e., enlistment of additional courses, cancellation of courses, enlistment of EDUC 300/400, residence, and assessment) will be processed during the registration period (February 8-10, 2021). Please do not call or email the Office to follow up on your requests. We will entertain them during the designated dates.
  2. The processing of document/certificate requests will be temporarily suspended from February 8-12, 2021. Registration concerns will be prioritized during the said period. Processing of requests will resume on Monday, February 15, 2021.
  3. Queries and requests we receive via email on February 12 (Special Non-Working Day) and February 13-14 (weekend) will be attended to on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Call for Application for Tenure Track Teaching Post: Educational Research

The Division of Educational Leadership and Professional Services UP College of Education is now accepting applicants for TENURE TRACK TEACHING POST: Educational Research and Evaluation (First Semester AY 2021-2022).

Applicants should have the following qualifications:
• Must have earned a PhD in Education, major in Research and Evaluation or related degree, from a reputable university
• Has teaching experience in both graduate and undergraduate levels
• Must provide evidence of professional and ethical practice

Applicants must submit the following:
• Letter of interest describing his/her qualification, including research accomplishments and/or plans.
• Curriculum vitae (include contact information or current or latest employer).
• College transcript of records (original or photocopy).
• Contact information of your current employer and last two employers.
• Contact information of three (3) referees.

Free Tuition Extension Appeal for Second Semester AY 2020-2021

Please be informed that the Office of the College Secretary will accept free tuition extension appeals effective Second Semester A.Y. 2020-202 starting 26 January 2021 until 12:00 PM of Wednesday, 10 February 2021 only.

As per Undergraduate Student Admission, Progress, and Welfare (USAPAW) Committee, the following documents should be submitted to educacad.updiliman@up.edu.ph (Subject line: Appeal for extension of free tuition_Surname, First Name):

  1. Letter of appeal with the following details:
    a. Student Number
    b. Remaining number of units
    c. Year standing/remaining number of semesters in degree program
    d. Reason why the student was unable to finish the degree during the expected period (i.e., health reason, work, etc.)
    e. Status of settlement of deferred grades, INCs, and 4s (if applicable)
    Note: Letter should be signed by parents/guardian (if applicable) and endorsed by the Program Adviser and DCI Chair.
  2. Document/s that would support reason for not finishing the program on time (i.e., medical certificate, work documents, etc.) and proof that the student is working on the settlement of deferred grades, INCs and 4s.
  3. A print-out/screenshot of most recent grades from ALL semesters generated from CRS (saved as a Word/PDF file)
  4. Accomplished curriculum checklist that is “Certified Correct” by the Program Adviser. The checklists can be downloaded at https://our.upd.edu.ph/curriculum.html (for 2012-2017 student nos. ONLY). N.B. Student nos. 2011 & below – c/o respective program advisers

Application for Undergraduate Shifting for 2nd Semester 2020-2021

ATTENTION: APPLICANTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE SHIFTING FOR 2ND SEMESTER 2020-2021

Dates for undergraduate shifting for 2nd Semester 2020-2021

  • Deadline of application for shifting (within the College and from UPD units): January 29, 2021
  • Deadline for transferring (from other UP units and other schools and universities: Not applicable
  • Online Teaching Aptitude Test: February 3, 2021
  • Career Assessment Test/Counseling: By appointment with the Office of the Counseling and Guidance within the year
  • Interview: February 5, 2021

Applications submitted beyond the deadline will no longer be accepted.

Important Reminder: Before applying for shifting, please take note of the following:

  1. The College is working on a tight schedule. Since the submission of grades is on January 22, 2021, applicants are given one week to work on their requirements.
  2. Results will be released within the 3rd week of February 2021.
  3. Students who will be accepted in the program will have one year probationary period. They should maintain a grade of 2.5 or better per semester (based on UP CEd Retention Policy) and should only take subjects prescribed in the program of study/curriculum checklist.

*Application for shifting for 2nd Semester 2020-2021 will only be allowed this AY 2020-2021 as per UPCEd Faculty decision (June 15, 2020).

Advisory from the Office of the College Secretary (December 16, 2020)

Please be informed that the Christmas break will start on Saturday, 19 December 2020. The mandatory break for employees is from 21-23 and 28-29 December 2020 (based on UP Memo No. TJH 20-38 dated 10 December 2020). In this regard, the Office will be closed on Saturday, 19 December 2020 until Sunday, 03 January 2021.

Queries and requests received via email during this period will be attended to on a first in, first out basis (FIFO) once office transactions resume on 04 January 2021. In anticipation of the bulk of emails that the Office will receive during and after the break, we ask for understanding and patience as response time will take longer than usual.

Pre-enlistment for 2nd Semester 2020-2021

Attention CEd Students

The pre-enlistment for 2nd Semester 2020-2021 will start on Monday,14 December 2020. Please read the procedures on pre-enlistment carefully.  Contact your program adviser and send him/her an updated Program of Study (POS).

Extension of Deadline for Readmission from LOA

Attention: Concerned CEd Students

The deadline for Readmission from LOA is extended until 15 December 2020. Students who have pending applications for LOA and who intend to be readmitted for 2nd Semester 2020-2021 should complete the process. They should also submit their letter (addressed to the College Secretary) requesting readmission for 2nd Semester 2020-2021 with the program adviser’s endorsement on or before the deadline. The letter of request and supporting documents (if applicable) should be submitted to educadmissions.updiliman@up.edu.ph.

Kindly note that this extension of the deadline applies for the current semester only. Please read JMLC Memo No. 2020-05 for more details.
