2nd Semester AY 2018-2019 University Scholars and Student Achievers


To ALL concerned EDUC students:

As indicated in OVCSA Memorandum No. JFA 2019-91 dated 18 September 2019, “Certificates will be awarded to University Scholars and other outstanding students who have excelled academically and brought honour and prestige to the University. These are students who have been University Scholars in the last semester, or who have received national and international awards in various fields.”

In this connection, all student achievers as described above are requested to furnish this Office with photocopy of their proof/s of citation or certificate of award/recognition on or before Tuesday, 24th September 2019. Kindly present the original document/s for verification purposes when you come to submit your proof/s. Appropriate and prompt action is requested, so we can accordingly consolidate the list of achievers and submit the same to the OCVS before the set deadline.

The Revised UP Privacy Notice for Students

Suspension of Classes on 20 August 2019

Please be informed that all classes at the College of Education will be suspended on August 20, 2019 (Tuesday) to give way to the College Planning – Rest and Recreation of Faculty at Las Casas Filipinas in Bataan. Offices will remain open for usual operations and transactions.

Free Tuition Extension Appeal

Please be informed that the Office of the College Secretary will accept free tuition extension appeals effective 1st Semester AY 2019 – 2020 until Monday, 29 July 2019 only.

LET Review starts August 2019

The UP LET Review will start second or third weekend of August 2019 for the September LET exam.

Review schedule: Every SATURDAY and SUNDAY at 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Number of sessions: 8 – 9 sessions

Review Fee: PhP 6,500

How to Pay:
1. Pay personally to Ms. Karen at Room 116, UP College of Education, Benitez Hall; or

2. Deposit your payment to PNB Account No.: 108670005517; PNB Account Name: Research and Development Foundation of the College of Education, Inc. Scan the deposit slip with your full name and contact number. Email the scanned deposit slip to rdfceifoundation@gmail.com.

Student Teaching Application for 1nd Semester 2019-2020

TO ALL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION INCOMING STUDENT TEACHERS (Undergraduate Program) for 1st Semester 2019-2020:

Kindly consult with your program area adviser. Request for an assessment of your current academic status:

1) Must have completed all academic requirements
2) Accomplished 6 units of Philippine Studies Requirement (GE)
3) Must be in good standing (no grade of: INC, DROP, 4 or 5 in all required courses)
4) Must not be on MRR status
5) Students on MRR status must have an approved extension
6) Must have accomplished necessary substitution forms

GET YOUR APPLICATION FORM FROM RM 315 Health Education area. Application forms available on Monday May 20, 2019 1pm.

Attach the following documents:

1) Course Checklist (as assessed by College’s Student Records evaluator and Program Adviser)
2) Official True Copy of Grades
3) Medical Certificate
4) Other Pertinent requirements regarding student teaching (if any: MRR Approval, certificate of completion for INC, letter of appeal)

Personally submit completed application to the Student Teaching Coordinator Maria Cecilia V. Zamora in RM 315 Health Education Area during midyear June-July 2019.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO APPLY FOR STUDENT TEACHING?

Under EDUC’S policy, only those whose remaining academic load/courses are:

EDUC 180 STUDENT TEACHING (8 units)
EDUC 181 SENIOR SEMINAR (2 units)

Those with removable 4’s and/or incomplete must remove such deficiencies before applying.

Announcement of Action of the Student Teaching Committee on the Application for Student Teaching will be sent to your email.

Closing of College Library and Administrative Offices

Please be informed that the College Library and all administrative offices in the College of Education will be closed on Thursday and Friday, 25 – 26 April 2019, to give all concerned the opportunity to participate in the annual staff development activities lined up for the purpose. Note that transactions can be made until Wednesday, 24th April, and that regular services and transactions will resume on Monday, 29th April.
