When the first video of “USAPANG COVID-19” was released, educators from other Asian countries asked if the Reading, Early Grades, Art and Language Education (REGALE) cluster and UP Open University (UPOU)  would release an English version. Thus, Miguel and Urie are back in the video series “COVIDTalks.” This is even more special because the music used in the three videos is a gift from Adrik Cristobal, an alumnus of UP College of Music. Let us share with our colleagues these learning resources to trigger discussion about what is happening within children’s communities, in the country and in the world.

Kining Diksyunaryo nga COVID-19 Para sa mga Bata kay pahinungod sa Reading, Early Grades, Art and Language Education (REGALE) nga grupo sa UP College of Education alang sa mga bata ug ilang mga pamilya. Kami nagalaum nga kini makatabang sa pagsabot sa mga bata sa mga importante nga mga pulong mahitungod sa pandemiya karon.

Gibuhat namo ang diksyunaryo sa Filipino ug Ingles para masabtan sa mas daghan nga mga bata. Gitabangan sad mi sa mga bata, ginikanan, ug magtutudlo nga miyembro sa deaf community para makabuhat ug mga video para sa Filipino Sign Language nga bersyon sa mga pulong. Para sa bersyon nga Sinugbuanong Binisaya, gitabangan sad mi sa mga bata, ginikanan, magtutudlo, manunulat, ug doktor nga gikan sa lahi-lahi nga parte sa Visayas ug Mindanao. Nabag-o na ug naalisdan ang uban nga mga gipangsulat human mabasa sa mga una nga nakakita ug migamit niini.

The COVID-19 Dictionary for Filipino Children is a gift of the Reading, Early Grades, Art and Language Education (REGALE) cluster of the UP College of Education to children and their families. We hope that this dictionary will help young learners understand the key terms associated with the pandemic we are all experiencing. We made the dictionary in both Filipino and English so that it will be accessible to more Filipino children. We likewise collaborated with children, parents and teachers from the Deaf community in order to produce videos of the Filipino Signs for the terms in the dictionary. Links to these FSL videos were embedded in the dictionary. Some entries have been updated in accordance with the comments and suggestions of those who have initially seen and used it.
